Your Gratitude Sparks Growth
Happy Thanksgiving week! I hope your week is full of delicious food, fall colors, competitive football, and gratitude.
I have always enjoyed Thanksgiving. The week generally consisted of family coming into town, making rolls with my grandma, sneaking as many pieces of peanut butter fudge as I could, and enjoying the feeling of post-meal contentment as I reclined on the couch to watch the last football game.
Although this Thanksgiving will be very different for most people, I hope that you can find that contentment and consider all of the things in your life to be grateful for. I have found that the tougher life becomes, the more important it is to express gratitude.
Gratitude sparks growth. When life is hard, remembering the things you are grateful for encourages you to keep pushing and striving for your hopes and dreams. It reminds you that life is not all about the struggles, failures, and trials. Even in the midst of dark days, gratitude shines through.
Gratitude also sparks growth in others. Don't be greedy with your compliments this holiday season. Perhaps now more than ever, people need to hear how grateful you are to know them. Let them hear it and, if you can, share specific examples of why you are grateful for them. I am confident that your expression of gratitude will encourage them and cause them to have an even bigger impact on your life and the lives of those around them. Start a virtuous cycle by being bold and expressing your gratitude.
I am grateful for all of you. Thank you for your support and kind words over the past year and a half as I have been writing this blog. I am honored that you take the time to read my writing and assist me in working toward my goals.
Happy Thanksgiving!
