Don't Rush December
There are thirty-one days in December. How many do you typically spend rushing around and getting stressed out? 'Tis the season for busy malls, angry drivers, and endless social engagements. This December, like so many other things in 2020, is shaping up to be much different.
Although it is not the December that any of us wished for, it may be the December that we needed. Take this opportunity for peace and enjoy it. This December will not be marked by the typical hustle and bustle. Instead of finding ways to poorly recreate the typical activities, find new things to do this holiday season that revive, rejuvenate, and refresh you.
I have already decided to place an emphasis on a few things that I do far too infrequently. This December, I want to read more, walk my dog more, and cook more.
It is pretty simple stuff. I am not burdening myself with grand goals or new opportunities. Honestly, I have a lot on my plate right now, and I imagine that you do too. Because of that, it is particularly important to find things that refresh you.
This has been a weird year in so many ways, and I suspect that you have been stretched. With one month left in 2020, take some time to focus on yourself. Do not hear me wrong, though. I am not suggesting that you give up on your goals or completely shirk your responsibilities. Rather, determine how you can best support yourself in order to achieve all that you imagined.
